New Year's Eve Smoked Stealhead With Q-View

Smoked two halves of stealhead this evening that I picked up from Costco yesterday.

It is 15F here in Chicagoland and my MES did not disappoint.


Added the steelhead as soon as I turned it on and allowed it to ramp up to 225F with chips (Alder) in the chamber.

Wonderful smoke flavor. Both my kids (8 and 10) tell me that smoked salmon is their favorite meal.

Brinded for 4 hrs in a simple brine.

4 cups water
6 tbs Kosher Salt
2 tbs brown sugar

Dusted with ground pepper prior to putting in the smoker. Smoked with a bit of Apple Cider in the water pan

Dang it that looks great I am getting ready to do some myself this weekend, fresh caught off the Snake River of Idaho back in Nov
