Tips for spare ribs in a traeger?

Planning on smoking some ribs in my traeger. I'm new to smoking so in just getting my feet wet.

My traeger only has three settings, so it smokes at 180 degrees. How long should I be smoking spare ribs for? Any suggestions or tips would be helpful!

I would be surprised if 180 is the only temp setting for your unit.  I smoke my ribs at 235 using the 3-2-1 method for spare and 2-2-1 for baby back ribs.  Baby backs will take 5 hours or so at 235.

I do babybacks at 250 degrees at 2 hours of smoke - 1 hour of foil - 1 hour of smoke to firm the bark back up. Gives me the perfect tenderness and pull that I look for in Ribs.

For Spares I do 2-2-1.

Yea, my machine has three settings. Smoke at about 180 but varies up to 200 max, medium which is about 280-300, and high which is about 420-450.

I have some recipes but they only smoke for about an hour then medium for an hour, I want a longer smoke to get more wood flavor into them as one hour isn't enough.

The settings make it a little challenging I think. But I'm up for a challenge.

Also, hickory or apple?

Well I smoked the ribs, it was a little cold outside so I had to run it on medium which pot me about 220-230°. It turned out fantastic!
