QUESTION REGARDING CHIP LOADER IN MES

Dont know if it's been asked, but I'm curious as to whether the AMNS pellets would work in the regular chip loader. Maybe with some regular chips? Anyone ever try it?

I've used really ground chips almost like sawdust, and large chips, but never pellets. I heard somewhere on here that the pellets smoke differently in the mes. It'll be good to hear more on this for my own knowledge.

[Ive never tried anything but regular Weber chips, but I have a big load of the AMNPS pellets that I wanted to use up and thought I'd throw some in the chip loader on some quick smokes. I'm sure someone here has tried this. Who knows, maybe I'll be the first. biggrin.gif/SIZE]

Pellets burn up too fast

If you really want to use pellets, only dump a few in at a time

The smallest chips I've used are the Cameron's products chips. I smoked salt with them, but they didn't seem to give me the results I wanted as salts should be smoked low. Don't know if that was part of it or not.

Thanks Todd...I plan on mixing them in with some regular chips. I just wanted to make sure they didn't flare up under the loader conditions. Nearly blew my door off once with flashback, by loading too many chips. th_violent5.gif

Pellets will flare up, so don't use many of them at once

I would dump the pellets, and pull the chip loader out a bit for a little oxygen

This way, you shouldn't get the big "Whoosh" when you open the door
