New MES 30 Gen1 and AMNPs

I must have been extra good this year!!!

I will search for, but if anyone has readily available link to thread of proper AMNPS placement and vent placement, that would be great. I will also pick up soon the Maverick ET7 line of dual probe thermometer. Any help on proper placement of probe that does NOT go into meat would be appreciated.

Seasoning of the beast happens tomorrow.

Cant wait to smoke, and thanks in advance for the help!!

The AMNPS fits nice on the bars beside the burner.

I keep the vent wide open.

Here's a pic of how it fits.

The advice about the vent above is spot on. Always run it wide open to keep good air circulation.

I'm with Docktoo. No way a MES is supposed to look that clean--and soon it won't be. With that MES 30 Gen 1, the AMNPS, and the advice from the guys here, you're all set for some great smoking, OldCanalSmoke.

Thanks for tips. All seasoned and ready to go. I noticed that when I dropped the chips from loader, the temp went up 25 deg. I have yet to purchase the Maverick, but I guess, when I dont use the AMNPS, ill bump the temp down before adding chips.
