ok sorry if in wrong place im a newbie lol
about 4 years ago i had to cut a big limb off a cherry tree to run a new power line and the section of branch I cut off was probably 15 feet long and averaged about 8 inches around. My uncle wanted the wood and i gave it to him but he has since passed away and i found the wood sitting still in the back of his truck (they go away in the winter months) and my aunt asked me if i wanted it back. this was about a year ago It was in the back of the truck in a dry garage for like three years and i brought it home and stacked it upon the ground and i prob should have stacked it off the ground and or inside
It has been sitting on the ground for about a year and some of the bark has a fungus on it but only where it touched the ground. I can easily split it take the bark off and cut it in chunks with the chop saw. here are a few pics of one of the smaller pieces i split and just wondering what you guys think and if you feel its usable wood. I'm sure the bigger stuff prob looks better in the middle and if you think its not good enough to cook with how do you feel about burning it in my smoker for a first time as a burn all the oil off and a kind of seasoning process.
