Another new guy from San Diego.

After too much research, I added a GMG Daniel Boon to my yard yesterday.  I've been using a Kamodo for many years, but want the easy set it and forget it with easier low and slow.

Welcome to the forum Steve.  the search bar at the top of the page can be your best friend here, there is also a group of Daniel Boon owners here.  have a problem or a question just search for the answer.  Feel free to post any question you may have and someone will be along and help you out.  I own a Rec Tec smoker and if the Boon works anywhere near as well as the Rec Tec you will love it.  My rec Tec will hold temp regardless of the outside temp and smoke away for hours on end.  Good luck.  BTW I grew up in Chula Vista as father was in the Navy.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a windy, rainy and cool day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.

Thanks for the welcome.  Indeed, the search bar has already answered a bunch of questions.  Two days with the GMG DB and I am impressed with temperature range and consistency.  Tomorrow will be the big show.  I think both the Kamodo and the GMG will get a workout.  Forecast here is for perfect grilling weather (mid 60's and low wind).
