Always Smoking in Texas!

Thread Starter

A quick hello to the group and a pleasant Merry Christmas to everyone as I am probably the newest member and appreciate the welcome.

I stumbled across the forum as I was researching smokers for my brother for Christmas and thought to myself that as I am known to have something either going on or coming off the smoker real soon, I would probably benefit from the group by collaborating, networking and sharing ideas.

I live a few miles j south of New Braunfels, Texas USA and have been grilling and smoking for 30 years now.  I started off with 35 and 55 gallon barrels I would cut and make a stand with and moved on to bigger and better from there.  I now cook on a Texas made, Lyfe Tyme 20” x 40" Double Lid Smoker w/ Firebox.  This smoker more than meets all of my needs and the ¼” steel ensures it live up to it’s name.

Again, I am looking forward to sharing ideas and picking up tricks of the trade or hobby for most.
