Ok…..So here is the deal….. I have been wanting a larger area to work making sausage and curing meat and stuff like that……. Over the summer I came into a few extra $$$, so decided to add onto the house with the intent to use that space for “Family Space” LOL !!!!! Sausage Room!!!!! I’m about ¾ of the way through that addition now……. Waiting on permits!?!?!

On Dec 4[sup]th[/sup] a buddy of mine send me a Craigslist link ad for a Walk-in cooler….. I laughed and I kind of blew if off, 1[sup]st[/sup] because the ad was 23 days old, 2[sup]nd[/sup] because it was huge walk-in cooler…..8ft x 8ft x 20ft……. Well, curiosity got the best of me and I had to look into it, so I texted them asking if they still had it for sale…… About an hour later I received text stating that they still had it and needed it to go pretty quickly……After about an hour of going back and forth texting, I just decided to give him a call to get to the bottom of this……. After going back and forth for a while on the phone again about what do you want for it?  I don’t know what will you give me for it? He threw out that he felt that it was worth $2,500.00….. I kinda gave him a chuckle and said that I could not get even close to that number. I thanked him for his time and was getting ready to hang up the phone when he stopped me and asked, “What can you afford?”…. I threw out $500.00…… He said that he needed to call his stepdad and ask him what he thought about the offer and would call me back…… When I hung up the phone with him I thought I would never hear back from him or anything about the cooler ever again...…… He called me back about an hour later, he stated that I needed to come by to look at it and discuss price with his stepdad…… He gave me the address, it was only about ¼ of a mile from my house, so my son and I went by to look at it……..

After looking at this huge cooler with everything intact…..UH!!!! I could not help myself……. The words “What is your best price? “resonates through my head now……He said $1,500.00…..again I back away and threw out $500.00…… After a bit of going back and forth we settled on $800.00 and I had to dismantle it…….. SOLD!!!

It took us 4 days, working on it a few hours a day to dismantle the thing, it’s all cam-locks together so after the 1[sup]st[/sup] day learning curb, it was easy…….

So here is the newest addition to the ShoneyBoy’s and ShoneyBoy Jr processing toys……… We have to build a floor for it, because it was installed on the concrete floor of the business, but everything is there and it even comes with the condenser and evaporator….. Myself and Jr are both licensed HVAC Tec’s so reinstalling it will be a breeze……..

Now how to tell the wife???? Jr said I may be sleeping in it once I tell her……. Ha!!!

Picture before dismantling it..... the rust around the bottom it a piece of trim that will be replaced anyway........

How do I get that Condenser off of the roof ????

Here is how you remove condenser from the roof of the business........ Whew!!! we did not drop it !!!

So it's all home now, we need to make some more $$ to start building the floor for this monster........Thanks for looking ShoneyBoy

DonT forget to seal the seams as you put it together had a chance a one but it was 3 phase damb
I was thinking that it would be 3 phase too and I would not be able to use the equipment, so I was planning on using http://www.storeitcold.com/ for it.... But it worked out that it was 220v single phase.......

Hello Shoneyboy.  Great steal and what luck it was single phase.  When I was a teenager my friends Dad had an outbuilding about 12'x12' on a concrete floor.  We insulated that thing and just hung a window unit in it.  Processed a lot of deer and hogs in that thing.  With that thing you could open a side business, or even just rent out the room for folks to process their own game.  Keep Smokin!

Congrats!

So, did it come with a cot?

You sure you took down the right condensing unit? That thing is huge!

I would hate to see you get in trouble with the wife so tell ya what I'll do to help. I'll come pick up that cooler and give ya back the money you paid for it that way the wife won't get mad
