Good to be here folks! I thought I'd join up since I just started building my smoker. I've been smoking on an old smokey for a while now, and have developed a great addiction to smoking meat! I've been getting some good compliments on the food and have been spending more and more time at it. I can now justify the cost of a new build! I'm starting off with a 16 in schedule 40 pipe. I've cut all the pieces for the fire box and vertical smoke box out of 3/8 steel and got the fire box mostly assembled. I think it turned out pretty good for someone who has never built anything outta metal (although the grinding disks are getting expensive). Anyway I hope to spend some time on here sharing it with you folks.

Good evening and welcome to the forum, from a damp, overcast day in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Love watching smoker builds

Send me some Blue Bell

Welcome to SMF Oldduke45.  I'm not from Texas but I married a Texas Aggie whose roommate was from Brenham.  Seems I remember my favorite ice cream on the entire planet is made in Brenham, TX; Blue Bell Ice Cream.   I was just telling my wife about your post and she said "Yep, Brenham.  Tell him to send us some!"
