I just purchased the Masterbuilt 20051311 GS30D 2-Door Propane Smoker that will be arriving this Saturday. This will be my first time smoking anything so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. My plan is to smoke a pork butt for my first smoke. I have a few questions...
Do I need to "burn in" or "season" my smoker before I cook anything in it? If so, how?
At what temperature should I smoke the pork butt? I believe I should have it wrapped and unwrapped for a certain amount of time?
Also I have purchased Hickory and Apple wood chips that I should soak overnight, correct?
