I am receiving my very first smoker today via UPS. I bought a Masterbuilt 30" smoker and I am excited it will finally be here. I have never owned a smoker or even try to smoke before. I always wanted one and now that the kids are all grown up, I spent a few dollars for myself. I hope I made the right decision on getting a Masterbuilt. I am in need of help on getting started the right way.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q... 

Season it well then go to smoking. I don't put water in the pan. I fill the pan with sand

then cover with foil. Check to see if the set temperature is correct. I would suggest

Spending a few more dollars and getting a AMNPS.
