My name is Jerry and I am from the San Diego, CA area.  I retired a year ago, and having always loved cooking  [ especially the eating part ], I decided to combine my favorite pass times into a new hobby. After searching around I decicded I would like to take a shot at doing some smoking.

Been looking for a piece of equiptment that I could afford, and an entry point to smoking. Spent about 6 months looking and settled on a Brinkman Trailmaster LTD that I am in the process of assembling and making mods to.  Hopefully will be ready to start cooking in a couple weeks.

Have been following a few sites and found info gained useful, but I just decided that this is where I would like to share my journey into smoking. Hope that I am a good fit, and look forward to being apart of the group.

Thank you Jeff for the welcome and thanks to others for contributions that you don't know you have already made!  Jerry
