I wanted to say HI and thanks for allowing me to become a part of SmokingMeatForums! I bought a used MES (top rear controls) from a yard sale and have used it a few times with some success. :)

Unfortunately the guy that was selling it decided to clean it using oven cleaner and I have been trying to get rid of the horrific taste ever since. I have tried vinegar and re-seasoning over and over with limited results. It seems like the cleaner must have seeped into the insulation around the unit.

Anyhow, I'll likely be spending a fair bit of time here, and look forward to 'meeting' you all.

 Thanks,

 Carl.
