little experiment - Page 2

Looks good from here!!:drool

It's not a fail unless you can't eat it !!Thumbs Up

I guess that high heat in oil overpowers 2 hours of cold smoke.

Maybe you'll taste some in the cold leftover meat for sammies??

I usually fry two turkeys for my gang for Thanksgiving.  This year I fried one and smoked one.  I buttermilk brined the smoked one overnight.  The fried turkey was a hit as usual and I must say I enjoyed it better than the smoked one as well.  Nothing wrong with the smoked one just the fried was better.  I had hoped to hear you say you could get some smoke flavor with your fried turkey but I guess not.  I think I'll be putting the smoker away for Thanksgiving turkeys.

Har, Adam. Only a smoker would call great tasting turkey a failure. Nice looking meal.

Looks fine to me C-Man.... if we don't try we never know what is possible. Think of that guy who tried the first oyster... now that was a brave or extremely hungry man!

Thanks everyone.

Like I said, it was still a damn good turkey.

I'm not giving up on this yet.

Nope we don't.
