I'm considering buying a propane smoker to use at my fishhouse in the winter. I'm considering a cheaper propane smoker. Would a cheaper propane smoker be capable of holding temps when the outside temps are 10 below?

We thought about an MES but thought the 925 watts may be too hard on the 2000 watt generator over an 8-12 hour period

They will be fair at best. You can do mods to help. Remember the key words of cheap! You get what you pay for.

Happy smoken.

What's the lowest temp that propane tanks can function? I ask because once we tried to heat a cabin with one of those parabolic heaters that screws on to a propane cannister, and it died out because it was too cold.

Get a couple of Welding Blankets and wrap the Propane Cylinder and one draped on the Smoker..this should help a lot...

Be sure it is not near open flames...

.

Remember to take a fire extinguisher , a must for ANY Smoking or Grilling Equipment. The use is simple with this Acronym...

PASS = Pull-Aim - squeeze and Sweep

Have a safe and Happy T-day.

And as always . . .
