Hello all,

This is my first post and my first day as a member on this site. I am from Indiana.

I'm looking forward to learning from all of you, I previously had a smoker but several years ago I gave up on it as it was kicking my butt. This summer I found myself helping a friend in a smoking competition where we were handed a hard second to last place finish.

Being slightly over competitive, I purchased a smoker this summer in the hopes of getting better and practicing so I can avenge our loss.

One thing I did learn during that long day of the competition is that the "smoking, BBQing community is a great bunch and are as helpful and fun as any group of people out there. We had a blast all day long and ate a lot of great food (not surprised at our poor finish).

With that being said, my plan is to absorb as much info, secrets, tactics and recipes as I can.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone, I plan to smoke a turkey for the occasion.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from another cloudy, rainy, windy and cool day in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything

Gary,

Thanks for the welcome. I spent a little time in the great state of Texas many years ago. Texas is the real BBQ state.

Thanks again,

Tony.
