How are you coming on this build Nova? I'm just getting ready to start a 250 gallon build and I'm really racking my brain tonight trying to wrap my head around exactly how high to mount my firebox. I'm done worrying for the night though. I think it will all make more sense when the box is built and I can physically see what I'm working with Hope so anyway.

I'll post some pictures soon.  Last weekend I finished getting the box together, and on the trailer (temporarily, with bolts).

I need to cut the factory tank legs off, and make taller ones. It is too short and makes it hard to get up hills, plus, I'm a relatively tall guy at 6'0".

I finally have it in my backyard, now that I don't need heavy equipment to lift it and move it.  I'm preparing to take measurements for the stainless angle iron I need to build supports for the racks (also making them out of stainless).

Anybody looking at my thread here have any suggestions on the best way to build the racks?  I went to the metal supplier in Austin, and they have all sorts of stainless steel rods, bars, etc.  I want to be able to pull the racks out, and not have them fall out, with some sort of retainer, like you might have on a stove (at least in function, if not done the same way).  Perhaps I can weld a piece of stainless above the rack as a retainer, to keep it from flipping down when you pull it out with meat on it.

Another task is measurements for building a toolbox for the front (for storing anything and everything).  I also am going to make a space for an ice chest (some sort of big Yeti type cooler).  Lastly, I need a spot to put a propane barbecue pit on it.  For now, I'll use my portable stainless grill, but in the end, I think I'll build a barbecue pit and mount It permanently

Thinking some more about it, perhaps doing a rim of stainless angle, with expanded stainless in the middle might work well at first.

I've seen some posts from other guys using expanded metal, and it seems to have worked OK.

You can't get the criss cross pattern though.

I think they uploaded in the wrong order, when I'm at a computer I'll fix it. Now it's time to do the exhaust stack and the grates.

I'll post some more pictures tomorrow, but last weekend I was able to fire it up for the first time. It worked excellently, and the heat was within 5 degrees from one side of the tank to the other! It was super easy to keep it anywhere from 225-300 degrees.

Still have more work to do, need to fix the firefox door to be even, add my legit latch, air inlets, etc. However, I just needed to use the dang thing!

Made the cooking grates and anything related to holding food or of stainless steel. I had to get an arc welder because I couldn't get the proper shielding gas for my MIG welder, but could get stainless rods.

I can't be happier with my decision to go reverse flow.
