DaveOmak nailed it. It needed the chimney effect. I'll post pics once my desktop computer is back together. It works too good now[emoji]128522[/emoji]
I am struggling with mine as well. Would not stay lit on the table siting in a pan. Tried putting it in my mailbox and turning the heat on (MSE40), still went out. Have pretty much given up on it for now...going to put it back in the box and put in the garage for a while...aint worth getting frustrated over it....DaveOmak nailed it. Didn't help...it will not even stay lit sitting in a metal tray on a table...even tried it in my garage thinking the slight breeze we had may have been putting it out instead of fanning it...You should have your smoker hot before you put the amnps in your mailbox or smoker.
pellets have been nuked everytime except for the once when I had them sitting inside the MES for 2 hours at 275*. Can't get much more air flow then sitting on a table. Emailed Todd yesterday, he responded with some questions this morning. Just got done sending him a small book in response. There are only two things that should keep your amnps from burning properly, damp pellets or insufficient air flow. Sitting on a table, air flow is not the problem. I usually start mine in a cardboard box to keep the wind from causing it to flame back up then place it directly next to the chip tray in my mes40. If you know that neither dampness or proper ventilation is the issue, contact Todd and see what he says.
My pellets are still staying lit till they are all burned up but I am still having to put them in a dehydrator for 1-2 hours first.
