Been out a while, my free big box store offset horizontal has finally rusted through so it's time to get to the project I've been looking forward to:
My first inclination was to build something like this:

But then I saw this:
and it got me curious as to the best placement for the firebox - maybe even standing up on end sorta like this?
Which then brought me to this conundrum - Feldon's calculations say my firebox is 51% as big as it needs to be - I don't know if my measurements are wrong or what - but 50% bigger would be almost as big as the smoke chamber!

I am also not sure whether or not to go with a reverse flow. I like the idea behind it, but the extra cost/work for such a large RF plate makes me wonder..
Plus, door configurations and firebox particulars are making my brain hurt. Just wanted to see what yall would do with my raw materials if it were yours.
