I'm excited about learning more about bbq from the forum. My barbecue experience is pretty basic; but I did buy a smoker that I've yet to use (need to do some more homework). I bought a couple of barbecue books and hope to learn to do more than grill chicken and burgers! I also have a bit larger Weber Grill that I bought this year and loved the indirect heating technique to grill a a whole chicken, spread out with the back removed.

I've been watching all the Pitmaster re-runs and realize these people have BBQ'ing down to a science! So now I want to stretch my repertoire and try my hand at some ribs and other things.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from another cool and nice day in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of                    information on just about  everything.

Thanks Gary. Nice looking cooker. I forgot to mention that I have an 18" Smoky Mt. Cooker, big enough for the two of us or the next big steelhead I catch.:-) Now I just have to learn how to use it! LOL When I bought it, I thought I could also use it as a grill then found out it was just a smoker, so I went out and bought a decent sized, new Weber grill, since my other Weber is super tiny, just big enough for two small steaks or a couple of burgers.
