Holey Kow... Is it warm here or what..... Haven't had one night of frost yet.... usually we have snow by now.... The shallots and Multiplier Onions are up..... Most of my garlic varieties are up... The garlic in the picture is the variety "Siberian".... It probably thinks it's summer.... (if garlic thinks)....
The plot that looks like "dirt", is a 6 X 40 area that I over seeded with winter rye for a cover crop where the corn will be going next summer..... One evening I saw about 50 quail strutting over the dirt... I swear they can smell seed that is 1/2" under the surface.... that plot had 2#'s of seed on it..... Do you have any idea how many seeds is in 2#'s.... probably about 36,000 seeds in 2#'s.....

Looking out there, there may be 2-300 germinated seeds... so, the quail got 99% of the Rye.... I'm gonna have to figure out something for next year...
