We Lost a Soldier in Canada Today

I am sorry for interrupting this great forum on smoking. However, our Capital in Ottawa was attacked today. In the process a soldier who was standing a post at our War Memorial was shot by the gunman. I could not go without commenting on a man who was defending our nation and a monument that honoured too many who have died doing the same.

I send my condolences to his family and hope they have great memories of him that will help ease the pain some day.

I honour and salute the soldier and all those who defend freedoms I hold dear.

It's a sad day. Sounds like the Segeant at Arms in the Parliament building at least got one of the gutless cowards. Prayers for the family of the lost soldier.

Thanks, MD. From what I know of Canadian service men and women, these people are nuts if they thing this kind of crime will affect their commitment to duty. They will rally around and stand against this kind of criminal attack.

Broke my heart to hear the details today. My most sincere condolences to the family of the soldier and his companions.

May he rest in peace and thoughts to his family.

We also had a couple of armed men loose on our parliament house this morning but thankfully both were sorted before any damage done.
One had reported links to Isis
