Off to Home Depot, and home with a Brinkmann Smokin' Pit. We had a gas grill for 10 years and thought I would go back to charcoal.
Got home and smoked a chicken. Then some ribs, then a brisket, and a Turkey. Every weekend I had something going.
Then I started hanging around smoking websites. I realized my first purchase was flimsy, hard to regulate, kind of small and rusting and warping away. The grates are thin.
Back to Home Depot with minimal whining I left with a Brinkmann Trailmaster LE for a slamming deal.
I did some of the recommended mods, tuning plates and a fire basket and I'm off to the races!
For the price range, this thing is really nice. The fire box is plenty big for grilling steaks and burgers. I've been turning out some of the best Que we have had, and I live walking distance from 2 very popular Buffalo Smoke houses!
