Started with a DOA TracVac Leaf Collector (motor hadn't run in ~20 years)

Mounted old woodstove to motor mounts.

Initial test runs showed 225-250 temps.

Added some fold-out shelves on the sides.

Mounted a couple of thermometers

Constructing the interior frame

Almost ready to go

Added a wooden sign made from a leftover piece of chestnut lumber from a kitchen remodel.

Invited 40-50 friends and cooked 12 racks of ribs, 10 lbs of wings, 2 shoulders and an 8 lb brisket flat.

Food came out great.  Burned MA apple and a little VT Cherry and Alder.

So if you ever see an old leaf vac for sale....

Nice Job, great looking meat  and a very unique smoker  I Like it   Keep those future post and pictures coming

Great job looks awesome. I'm sure the meat cost more than the smoker. That is a cool rig.

People on here are just crazy, but that is awesome. Some of the ideas I would never have imagined. That is some redneck ingenuity and it is awesome. Crazy cool build bro. Nice work

Thanks, Bushwood!  As a Yankee that compliment means a lot to me :D

I consider myself as a redneck engineer as well. After growing up in south Carolina and moving to the north due to military placement, I consider myself an implant here. Lol
