Threw in some odds and ends in the grocery basket the other day and here's what I ended up with for Q-ing:
A few dino ribs, some beef short ribs and a funky stepchild looking hunk of brisket. It was obviously point. I used it for burt ends. Truth is I wanted some cheap sale cuts that I wouldn't feel bad about screwing up.
Some background: I have a Smokin-It #2 and decided to employ the use of an A-MAZE-N-PELLET SMOKER (AMNPS). Thanks to SmokeHappens for his feedback and for posting his mods to his #3 to employ the use of his AMNPS.
The above photo is this am out of the fridge after a night of getting cozy with my brown sugar/cumin based rub.
Some of the short ribs and dino min-rack:
Funky piece of brisket:
After I cubed it up I lightly dusted with my homemade rub and homemade BBQ Sauce. Then back on the smoker for about 90 mins:
Cut the dino ribs and put em back on to render some more fat. Who says you can't get back from an electric?
I really like the flavor I got with the AMNPS. Used Hickory and a little maple and cherry.
