Did a few chickens this week end. The chickens were so large the camp oven cover would not sit down till the chickens cooked for a while. The chickens were touching the cover for the whole cook but I managed to brown them a little bit.


Maybe a little much.


Nice lid full of Maple coals.


Not burned, caramelized and very tasty. The chickens made an excellent soup today. Served with new red potatoes and buttercup squash.

I love a dutch oven above the fire! But if I wore a coat outside this weeekend, I'd've had heatstroke. LOL

I am guessing that fire ring is at the camp, That looks like so much fun, and making memories. Thank's what it is all about.

This kind of meal cooked outside with nice people is what the hobby is all about. Kudos!
