Picked up a 12-13 lb Appleton 1/2 ham for a double smoke.   I decided to try something different and cored out about 10 spots and spooned in orange marmalade the reinserted the plugs.   Got it smoking on the Jimmy smoker with some apple wood from a local orchard.   I'll glaze it with marmalade toward the end.... more pics and results to come.

Awesome that's good to hear!   That marmalade sure does taste good, hopefully it'll spread around the inside via the plugs.

Foil it, wrap it in a few towels and throw it in the cooler. There is plenty of time to make to Indy before the game! IM me and I'll give you my address LOL

LOL, I would like to go to the game down there but this ham and watching on TV will have to do!    Go Irish!

When you said a 'plugged' Ham , you meant like a 'Mellon'

So you've cored and plugged the hams before  too eh Case?   It is pretty dang good!

Thanks disco, Stan, tropics, Justin....tasty for sure

Yes sir! Yeah my grandfather used to do that with hams. He'd put a concoction or pineapple juice, rum and marmalade in the holes and then put the plug back in. He'd stick the pineapple rings and cherries over the plugs so you couldn't see them. I haven't done one in a couple years.

Wow.... This is a darn good looking piece of meat! I love using marmalades and fruit juices in my meats, but you really took it to the extremum! Well done!
