Hello, im rather new to smoking but am hitting the ground with my feet running. Ready to buy a new smoker and get out there. I do have a question for everyone - Do you grill on your smoker or do you have a seperate device to grill on? Im buying a new smoker next weekend, a 1/4 inch one that im super excited about but not sure if i want to lug it out of the garage(long story) into the backyard everytime and more, i dont want to use a bunch of charcoal. Buttttt is it worth it buying a second grill like a weber 22.5 inch just everyday grilling.

Welcome to SMF David!  Glad you're here.  Sounds like you've got the smoking bug bad, as we all do.

There are smokers you can grill on and those best suited just for smoking.  Personally I use my smoker just for smoking and my Weber Kettle for grilling, though I have the Kettle set up to use as a smoker too if needed in a pinch.  Pretty much the only thing that hits the grill these days are steaks and burgers.  Everything else, pork, beef, poultry, nuts, and veggies get smoked in the smoker.

Once you get your smoker be sure to share pics of it.  Lots of friendly folks here will have suggestions and advice if you have a question.

Have fun!
