Thank You Rarebit !!

And Thank You for the Point !!

I wish my front yard was that flat.  I have to hold on to the side of the seat to keep from sliding off.

Hello.  GREAT lookin chicken Bear!  IF I may suggest:  to that cream of chicken soup add one can of cream of mushroom.  Now this isn't my favorite but when I want to impress folks with chicken fried steak this is what I make for gravy.  Add a little S&P and job done.  I am not a "shroom" person but folks seem to LOVE the combo.  Quick, easy no muss no fuss.  I am happy with just a simple gravy made in the same pan with flour and milk.  Keep Smokin!

Danny
Thanks Danny!!

Yup---We like this Cream of Chicken with Chicken, but we go with the Cream of Mushroom with Meat Loaf, Chicken Fried Steak, etc, etc.

Bear
Looks crispy, juicy, and oh so tasty!!!
Thank You Much !!

In my next life, I want to be next-door-neighbors with Bear. Just to pick his brain across the hedge, and smell what he's cookin' up.

Great looking plate Bear!!

But what's up with that canned gravy substitute???? Where's you smoked chicken stock??? That's what we use to make gravy out here in the Wild West!!!
Thanks Case!!!

We both love Campbell's Cream of Chicken with Chicken. Sometimes I throw a little more Chicken pieces in.

Bear

Oooo, looks good. How about a recipe for your Gravy... I've never had it that way , We always made Gravy from drippings . Yours sounds good .
Thanks Stan!!

It's easy----- Open can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken, pour in pot, add about 1/2 cup of Milk, heat & stir.  Done.

Bear,

Just really read your signature block and Dong Tam rings a bell from a long time ago. I was in the back of gray/black UH-1 and we were almost never down south but I think I remember a huge response bringing "stuff" in and men out after a big explosion in early '69. I think that's the only time I was ever near Dong Tam but maybe I have memories confused. Does that make any sense to you?

Scott

If you look up "Perfectly Grilled Chicken" in the dictionary there would be a picture of Bears Chicken.   Good job Buddy,  It's amazing what years of grilling and smoking can do.

Gary S
Thank You Gary!!

Great looking chicken!!! Doesn't have to be fancy to be tasty and your plate looks very tasty.  Reinhard
Thanks Reinhard !!

OMG, does that make sense:

On March 26, 1969, the VC hit our main Ammo Dump with a couple RPGs, shortly after Midnight. That started the 500 Tons of Ammo (1,000,000 LBS) exploding. I was about 200 yards from the Dump, and the shock wave tore the roof off my hooch. The big stuff went off quickly, forming a Mushroom Cloud over Dong Tam. All Reactionary Force members went to the perimeter, and we laid on the berm waiting for a ground attack while we watched about 7 hours of the smaller stuff causing an incredible display of fireworks. There was no ground attack, but 2 Americans were killed & 64 wounded.

That was one crazy night.

Bear

Bear that looks FANTASTIC! The thigh is my favorite piece of a yard bird. Well maybe not. I sure do like the hearts.

Happy smoken.

David
Thanks David!!

I know what you mean about Chicken Hearts. When I was a kid we ate Hearts, Kidneys, Livers, Gizzards of about every game animal legal to shoot. We even ate Brains!!! (cow)

Now I never get any of that stuff, because Mrs Bear isn't into eating innards.

Bear

Bear,

I grew up (at least in the summers), working on my aunt and uncle's farm. When my uncle slaughtered a cow, pig or even a chicken, you ate about everything, including pig's brains (or rabbit's) scrambled with eggs for breakfast.

LOL----We ate all that stuff when we were kids, but probably the only thing I wouldn't want to eat again is the brains.

My stomach must have gotten weaker in my old age.

Bear, To make matters worse, I taught survival in the Air Force for a while so, I ate (and made others eat) some things WAAY worse than brains! For example, did you know that rabbit eyes (or actually most eyes) are a great source of salt which can really cut down muscle cramping in a high temp survival situation!

Don't think I'll try that in a fatty! LOL.

Scott

You brine em first or just straight on the smoker.  We may have a lot of one eyed animals running around our neighborhood

I never ate any Eye Balls, but I saw it on that new program last week, on the Weather Channel----"3 Fat Guys in the Woods". (Survival)
