A buddy of mine told me he had some and brought them to work. I was intending on cold smoking them and then dehydrating them but here's what I was given (at least 50 just like this - skin getting soft and dry veiny looking). Can they be saved? Could I blanch the skin off?  Advice needed!!

Slice them in half lengthwise or into rings and dehydrate them..... they are perfect..... and they look like Fresno Chili's to me....

You can remove them or dry them... The seeds and membrane in the chili have most of the heat... so they say... the seeds should fall out after the drying process... we dry them seeds and all.... adjust the dried product depending on how much heat we want..... you can save them for Pizza topping... they will be a lot hotter than the pizzeria seeds you get.... You can add the seeds to really anything... grind them and add the powder....

I made hot sauce out of about 3/4 of them and have the rest in the dehydrator for grinding into powder.

ETA: I cut 'em in half to get more smoke on 'em.
