Man that looks good! Yeah I hear you guys on the meat prices. I think we are finally in the throes of that price spike caused from the drought last summer and the cattle culling last fall. Hopefully prices will cool when grilling season winds down.....

Not sure if it will go down much. Once they see people will pay more they will keep charging more.

Tri Tip is the ultimate summer grilling/smoking fare! I've cooked as many as 25 at one time for staff at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Edwards AFB in California on a grill the weld shop built.

I usually place my rubbed Tri Tip in the fridge over night.

I remember when we paid $1.69 lb. for them, now they're $8 lb. at Sams!

I do mine on a Primo XL now and always results in happy neighbors.

Thanks everyone. AF Rocketman try Costco. They are only about 6 bucks a lb.

Man I wish they were that cheap at our Costco. They just bumped the price up to $8.99 per pound!

A buddy and I are going in on a bulk pack at Cash and Carry (PNW Restaurant supply chain). $4.65 per pound right now. You get 6-7 tri-tips. Still have to peel the fat off though.

Dang that sucks. The stuff I get at Costco are already pealed. Wish you were closer to get you that deal

I like the way it looks, and a quick smoke really, My local grocery store has some tri-tips fo 4.99lb (some near 4lbs). I might try one tomorrow , no prep time sounds great and the meat looks great also, What wood are you using to smoke it with, cherry, apple, hickory, mesquite??
