Hello,
My name is Mike and am located in Dallas, Texas. Am recently retired after working 44 years as an Electrical Engineer in Power Distribution.
Have been "casually" BBQing for several years, but have recently decided to kick it up a notch. (Retirees DO have a lot of time to expand their horizons.)
I use an off-set pit, an old farm butane tank with a fire box on one end. Like to do pork ribs, brisket, and turkey.
Am still playing with different woods; oak, mesquite, pecan, hickory, apple...
Make my own rub, but also still experimenting.
Am looking forward to picking up lots of great tips from the Forum.
Regards,
Mike
