There was a pork tenderloin on sale so, it was time to fire up the mini.

I mixed up some honey, a bit of orange juice and some grated orange rind. I brushed the loin with the honey mixture and pressed in some dried rosemary and some fresh thyme. I let that sit in the fridge for a couple of hours.

I lit up a chimney of lump charcoal. I added a couple of chunks of apple wood.

I got the mini up to about 375 and put a tray of cubed, oiled and seasoned potatoes on the mini for 1/2 hour. Then I through the tenderloin on.

I took it to an internal temperature of 110 and flipped the tenderloin.

I took it to an internal temperature of 153 let it rest and served it up.

I served the pork and potatoes with a fresh salad from our garden.

The Verdict: The tenderloin took the smoke quite well and was very tasty.

Great looking tenderloin and plate Disco!
Thanks Bear and DS. A buddy of mine had a look at these forums at my recommendation because he is thinking of taking up smoking. He said the food looks like a restaurant pictures and asked if all the members were chefs! Kudos to you guys for bringing my level up.

Looks great Disco.

I never tried a tenderloin.

Might be a tough cut to get right?

Thanks, Adam. Actually, the only secret is not to overcook it. Give it a try! Just get the mini hot enough to give it some sear.

Tenderloin is one of my favorite cuts of pork. Looks great, real nice smoke penetration and the homegrown salad looks great.
Thanks bobank. It was a nice meal.

Just the contrary....tenderloin.   You have had  tenderloin...every time you make CB.  It's the most tender part of the loin.

Looks great Disco!   Aren't ya glad you made a mini?

Great looking food!

I have the same pot as you and your bending of the lip looks perfect! That's the last thing I have to do to finish my build. That's not stopping me from using my mini: I smoked a whole chicken thursday and some brisket 'steaks' on Friday. You're also the first person I've seen paint the inside. I'm not sure I'll do that but it does look good! Hmm, stickers on the inside as well...

That's NOT paint on the inside of Disco's pot. That's what's called seasoning. It's the build up that occurs as part of the cooking process. DO NOT paint the inside of the pot.

Actually the Pork loins you get in your part of PA probably don't have Tenderloins included. They lay along side, but not within the loin, so they probably weren't in your CB.

I know the Pork Loins I get are about 9 or 10 pounds, and the Tenderloins aren't part of them. You have to buy them separate.

I see them separate all the time.

Expensive little things.

Thanks, Welsh but Case is right, that is just the normal coloration of a few smokes in a mini. I wouldn't paint the inside.
