My name is Ryan and I live right smack dab between Gideon and Moody, OK. I'm definitely an amateur smoker because I don't have time for anything more of a commitment than that these days. Having a three year old son and traveling 32-36 weekends a year will flat out eat up the time.
I smoke in a Masterbuilt 30" Electric smoker most of the time. If I'm cooking for a crowd though there's a Char Griller Smoking Pro sitting on the patio as well.
I grew up in and around the butcher shop my grandfather owned and operated and I've been interested in smoking, curing, and all the process that goes with it since I was a kid. I'd pretty well given up smoking though after my grandpa retired until a couple years ago when I just couldn't find any BBQ I was happy with so my wife bought me the Masterbuilt for my birthday and the rest is history.
I've been lurking here on the forums and reading the newsletter for quite a while so I figured it was time to sign up and become part of what seems like a pretty good community.
