switching from Green Egg to Treager

Thread Starter
I have been cooking with a Big Green Egg but recently added a Treager Jr. I wasn't thrilled with the smoke flavor with the Treager pellets. I would very much appreciate input as to where to get good smoking pellets.

Also I like to use mustard base sauce as i grew up in S. Carolina always looking for others who like the mustard sauce

Do a search for traeger pellets and you'll find that most of the pellets are made with all the same base wood, alder in the west and oak on the eastern US. 70 percent base wood and thirty percent of the wood it's suppose to be. If I remember correctly the hickory and mesquite where 100 percent base wood with 'wood oil flavor.'

Some people on this site use a amnts to supplement the smoke in their traegers.

Edit: the thread title is 'New Info on whats in Traeger Pellets.'

Hello and welcome from East Texas, take a look through the different forums and post, I'm sure you'll find a lot of useful information there
