Back in UK after 10 years in the USA the last 7 yrs in Texas, which is where I picked up the bug for outdoor cooking and especially Smoking.
I managed to bring back a 1000 w electric smoker which is a great little unit although I do have to use a 110 transformer to supply it. Just about to complete my 2nd whiskey barrel smoker the first one was secreted away by my brother. I use most woods depending on what I am cooking Mesquite, Hickory, Apple and cherry are my favorites also like grapevine which I picked up as tip from a locale Vintner in Grapevine Texas . I am always on the lookout for things to develop into grilling or smoking units, at present I am tinkering with some large Victorian chimney pots using the small electric stove top elements as the heat source for small joints. I might just add that I am an Electrcal Engineer so should know what I am doing lol.
Thanks for the site set up its great
