Hello everyone,

I am Bill, from Long Island, NY, I have been barbecuing since forever, mainly using my Weber to cook Turkeys on Thanksgiving, Lamb on Easter and Brisket when ever there was a sale.  I ran into this forum researching electric smokers and felt this was a place I needed to be.  I am looking forward to visiting here often.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Thanks for the welcome,  there is a lot of good information here.  I see you have a MES 40, how do you like it.   My MES 30 arrives tomorrow, and I haven't been this excited in a long while.

Boxcardriver, welcome to the site from Sennett (near Auburn).   What kind of chain grocery stores are near you?

Lance

Hey Lance,

Thanks for the welcome.  Our chain stores are King Kullen, Walbaums and Pathmark. There also is a chain called Western Beef that has a full on butcher shop on site which is awesome, and I have a membership to BJ's.  You're near Canadaigua, NY, I play golf up there every May with my family at Bristol Harbor.  I am also jealous of you because you have Wegmann's and I don't.
