Hi,

I've have not smoked for several years. Now that I have found this site I realize I was doing it all wrong anyway. After reading some of the posts here I just purchased an Old Country Wangler and need to get back to it.

Welcome to the board! Plenty of TX people here. Use the Search to look up your model of smoker and see what people are doing with it, especially modifications to improve it.

Then go browse the recipes...

Dong Tam sounds familiar looking on the map you were not that far away from Long Bin. I think I may have flown into Dong Tam. I was there 69 -70

You probably did----It was choppers that kept us alive in Dong Tam. Choppers Ruled!! In his book, Colonel Hackworth called Dong Tam "40 Acres of Sitting Ducks". We took mortars and/or RPGs every night. I got to Long Binh once, but thankfully not "LBJ".
