I can't figure out what the deal is with my Maverick. It will not stay remotely connected. I turn on both units, they sync up and show the same temp. Then no matter how far or close the units are to each other, within 20-30 minutes they lose the connection. The pit unit reads the accurate pit temp but the remote unit will read something different. I've reset them at least a dozen times today. Both have brand new batteries.

Anyone experience anything similar?

Don't know how long you have them, and if they have been working good until now.

If that is the case----It's possible to have brand new batteries that are bad.

They're ET73's. They never worked that great and usually lost signal a few times. Today was just a pain in the ass. Probably just going to order a 733.

Bear - I thought the same thing about the batteries so I tried a few sets with no luck.

I was going to ask which ETs you have too, because the ET-73 have the least distance, but I didn't ask because you said "no matter how close they are.

My ET-732 is much better than my older ET-73, and I hear the ET-733 is good, but I can't yet confirm that personally.

Well.... I tentatively take back my complaints about my Maverick. For whatever reason I decided to give it another shot during today's PP smoke. Thus far we're 7 hours in and it's working perfect. It's remained synced the whole time? The receiver is in the house on the counter, at least 30 feet from the transmitter.

I can't believe it, it has never worked this long in the previous 3 years I've owned it.

Glad to see yours is working fine. I had a bit of a problem getting my ET-733 units to sync when I turned them on with the first use. Ever since then have had no problems. The receiver batteries (or battery? Forget how many they use) died after a couple of uses but after putting in new batteries it's been working fine the past couple of smokes. Have yet to change the batteries on the transmitter.
