Record lows

Chilly temps and windy all day in the KC metro area, and the forecast is for record lows tonight. Makes for bad weather to enjoy a cold beverage on the deck, but perfect weather to smoke some cheese!

It's too hot in Texas to smoke cheese, will have to wait until November or December now.

Tried the wine barrel pellets from A-Maze-N with some cheese I have smoked before and the wife and I love (Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar and Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar). This might be the best smoked cheese I have made, but I'll wait three or four weeks before I know for sure. I really think the wine barrel pellets are going to be GREAT for cheese. :yahoo:

Still enjoying the cooler temps, although it got up to almost 90 today. Even that felt cool. Went down to the in-laws' farm and put up over 500 pints of sweet corn today, and it seemed unreal compared to the hot weather we are used to for this event.

ya we have a heat advisory today they just took it down to 106 but I don't think we will make it to 108, but I am ready to head for the mountians, we are in a valley here 700ft above sea level, right on the Snake River. Time for some cold ones after work.

In response to driedstick's request, I love the flavor of the wine barrel pellets with cheese. Out of the five or so varieties I have tried, this is definitely my wife and I's favorite.
