Best Place To Buy Meats - Northwest Connecticut

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and new to bbq. I live in the northwestern part of Connecticut (north of Waterbury and west of Bristol) and wanted to see if there were any decent butchers near me that have reasonable pricing.

Thanks in advance and I hope to be posting some pictures of me successfully making my on 'que like ya'll!

Try out Ideal Meats (formerly Antonellis) in Waterbury, or Litchfield Locker in Litchfield.
As far as pricing? Meat is nuts right now. Beef AND pork are rising by the week. Hope you like chicken.

Thanks geerock! Glad to be here, for sure. My wife doesn't have the passion that I do about smoked meats so hopefully I can do it well enough where she develops a love for it too. I know that Antonelli's is more expensive and so is Watertown Meat Center but I have yet to try the Litchfield Locker.

Hey, Gaffney, if you smoke it she will come around. Here's a great place if you haven't been there. Its a bit of a ride for you but try Ferraros in New Haven on Grand Ave. Everything you can think of and they'll cut special you. On saturdays if you buy a decent amount you go to the counter and the butchers will mark down some of the packages for you. Or ask for a sale price and most of the time they are happy to do it.

I'll drive anywhere I need to if the prices are better than Watertown Meat Center or Antonelli's!

Thanks for the sppedy replies and helpful suggestions geerock. I wholeheartedly appreciate it.

Makes me think of the movie Field of Dreams but with 'que.
