Hello folks, my name is Simon and I live in Peterborough, UK. Pulled pork is my passion, and after some disappointing meals in local pubs (a packet out of the freezer most likely) I've started to cook my own. My old gas grill works reasonably well, but I've just bought a charcoal smoker which I'm trying to get to grips with.... This is the only thing that gets me out of bed before 8am on a Sunday...

Welcome to SMF. Once you get the hang of using your smoker you will never eat bbq or smoked meat out again.

Good afternoon, and welcome from East Texas

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Hi Simon, welcome to SMF. As Danny as already said, look around, read what people have done and learn from their experience! The tried and texted recipes and methods on here can't be beaten or can they?

Happy Smoking
