The answer is no . Planning on doing a few cook offs next year . The only thing I haven't done yet is a whole hog . Well I wasn't sure a 250 was going to be big enough to do a whole hog . The 330 was what I was looking for but I would have had to buy new and this 500 was scrap at 200$ new so I took it I called at the right time and right day . I have been looking for 4 years to build one but could never find a tank .

Well I started tinkering with the tank today . I have a question for recent builders what do you guys do with the 5 ports on the top of the tank cut them out and weld plugs in and grind them flat so the top is smooth or cut the legs off and roll the tank over use the bottom as the new top?

Awesome tank.

I cut them off with a cut off wheel and plug welded them flush. The feet let me set the tank flat and level on the trailer with no effort.

I did have a little warpage problem with the 300 gal. Didn't with the 250. I think that my door cut was closer to the tank piercings on the 300.

It can be straightened with a little thoughtful effort.

This looks to be an interesting build.

Ok guys I am thinking of something the 500 gallon tank I have is 120" in length is kinda long I think 84" shall be long enough was thinking of using my 36" drop for my firebox! Not sure how to figure out the area of both chambers please help!!!
Also my plans are to use a stoker or a guru in this case my intake size would not be important .

We r getting almost 500 a ton scrap for structural steel shred is paying 328a ton so could not pass this up I have been lookin for a while

Well I got my 1/4 in sheet yesterday had it sheared to my ruff dimensions got it home and I think I'm going to have to rework my building process cause this stuff is heavy!!!!
