About the stuffer..... from what I have read, on this forum, the 5# stuffers are easier to stuff sticks.... I think it has something to do with the diameter of the piston versus the diameter of the tube..... better ratio for stuffing small casings.... FWIW....

Maybe someone can explain their first hand experience stuffing using different sized stuffers.....

Here is one place to get it....... I use 1/2" OD..... that is 13mm OD.... you can try 9/16" OD.... still plenty small....

Now based on that... are you using the flange at the base of a plastic stuffing tube for it? How do you get the brass piping to stay without being pushed through from the pressure of the stuffer ? seems like a great idea just not sure how to fabricate something like that.

With the larger 30 lb stuffer I would not attempt to make snack sticks. It also says in the directions If making snack sticks to remove the motor and use the hand crank only. I have the older model which has no clutch. It had a safety where a plastic gear was pressed into a metal gear and when it failed you had to replace the gear. Now the replacement gear on the older model is one solid piece. I dont have any experience with the new models with clutches stuffing snack sticks. I bought the gander mountain 15lb vertical stuffer with metal gears to stuff sticks if needed. Its a work horse and can take the abuse...

Sticks look great

What a waste of good vacuum bags.... They wont last long...lol

Lol thanks man. Yeah the new ones I'm not sure they just seemed like a great idea because it had the motor but guess with anything that has a motor your gonna have failure at sometime. The 15lb gander mountain I had was junk it had the metal gears but it I stuffed one batch of sticks and it had metal shavings coming off the gear and that was from the bigger snack sticks casings. Maybe it was a lemon off the production. And your right lol them sticks pry won't last long

Use a flaring tool to create the flange.... heat the metal to anneal it ... as long as the tube sticks somewhere in the stuffing tube, it will work... I added a washer and slid it over the tube.....

Hmmm dave that's very interesting. I don't have a flaring tube and not sure what they cost to get them. The snack stick tube I had to use for this batch was a 13 mm. Which to me was more of a breakfast link size. I would like a 19mm stuffing tube for mine. Just figured 19÷25.4 = .75 (3/4) basically. That would work alright for 21 mm casings. Should fit pretty snug and have decent opening for the sausage to flow

Be sure you get tubing that fits the flaring tool.... try the pawn shops.... that's where I got mine, or was it at a garage sale... I can't remember.... they come in handy every 20 years.... fuel lines.... brake lines.... hydraulic lines.... stuffing tubes for friends....
