New to smoking

I am gonna try to smoke a pre cooked ham this weekend. I was talking to a friend and he's getting ready to do one. He's gonna rub it down with mustard and brown sugar. I was wondering if anyone here has heard or tried this. I am also looking for any other ideas please. A pic of before and after would be nice but not necessary. Thanks in adavanced.grilling_smilie.gif

Hey mrugg! Glad to have you along! If you haven't already, head over to roll call and introduce yourself. On the ham, I've never smoked one that way, but I've often used mustard and brown sugar to glaze baked hams, I also add some cider vinegar as well. I don't see why the favors wouldn't work when smoking. If you try, let me know how it turns out.

It turned out extremely well pappapig. I already went over and introduced my self.
I mixed the yellow mustard and brown sugar in a bowl to my taste so there is actually no exact amounts. The only thing I can say was 2 1/2 hours and basted before I put it on and half way threw. Just plain water in the water pan and apple wood on the charcoal. Not of the weight of the ham but it was small. But I know this I really liked doing it.yahoo.gif
