I can not believe I have not touched this smoker project in almost 4 years, but I look at my original post date, and I guess it has been

Well, I’m starting it up again. I just ordered aluminum chimney parts that I hope will work. Part of that is a choke for controlling flow. I got a foot of pipe which I hope will create some draw and a rain cap for the top.

I just got my dad an a-maze-n pellet smoker that he really likes. So I got one for myself that I have used a couple times in my grill, since I do not have this smoker done. So I think I am going to use it as my smoke source. T

o lift it off the bottom of the smoker I am considering a 6” cinder block. I’ll probably put down an aluminum sheet, then the cinder block. Then inside the cinder block I’ll stick the a-maze-n smoker. On top of the block I’ll put the heating elements. At the lowest level of the rack of racks I’ll put the element to check the temps, with the pid and other electronics outside somewhere.

Maybe I’ll post a picture or two once I get the parts together.
