Maybe it is my imagination, but its been about an hour and its only at 106°. This is the first I've had it oit this year and don't remember it taking this long.
Heating to 240° to do a butt. Outside temp is around 70° and not much of a breeze at all. The smoker is sitting in direct sunlight too.
2nd year with my MES 30 1st gen. Any thoights or insights would be helpful. Oh, and my wife said that she thinks it is just being a butt and going through a stall. Thought that was funny and creative.

let's see.   Sitting in the sun on a 70 degree day with the temp reading 107 degrees?   Did you plug it in? or turn the knob to on?  HeHe  happens to the best of us!!

Sadly I never turned the time on after turning on the temp... sooo, it just shut off right away.

Will Never happen again!!!

Ever since that happened, The first thing I do is set it for 20 hours, so the only way it shuts off is when I personally shut it off!!!

Final product was awesome. Used 3 parts OJ, 1 part rum for the mpp and Pitmaster Special pellets. My Maverick stoped working, which is annoying considering it is only a year old, so I went out and got a Weber thermometer. I actually like it a lot.

The best part was, I had a tiny bit left over, so I drank it.

I was actually spraying on and then spreading with a brush. Wouldn't have drank after the brush was in it. With pure liquid, I always spray on.
