My electric smoker is kinda narrow and sometime the ribs are too long. Is it ok to cut them in half before cook or is it better to smash them in there??

My wife likes hers sauced.  I like mine dry. By the time I am done smoking ribs, I am the only one who should be sauced, but I sauce hers anyway!

I cut them in half and see little if any difference. Also makes them easier to vacupac and freeze when you find a sale.

Good luck and good smoking.

Ok guys. They are cut. Rub applied and waiting for MES to get to 225. Gonna have some ribs today with Q-view!!

Looks like you could have layed them in diagonally from corner to corner of the rack.  I do mine this way and they fit pretty nicely.

I have done that! I have done it both ways but I don't see much difference in taste. Should be fine!

There will be absolutely no taste difference due to cutting them in half.  That said, I hate doing it and think it's a crime, but that's just because I love the look of full racks sitting in my smoker.   Its one of the reasons why I love my SH44, cause I don't have to commit that crime any longer.

Starting to sauce. Pulling away from bone nicely. Should be nice and tender. Fries in oven! God I'm hungry!!

They were fantastic!! Pull off the bone. My homemade BBQ sauce was a good finisher. Neighbors are drooling [emoji]128540[/emoji]

Thanks hangin1. Appreciate it. Enjoy your ribs tomorrow!!
