Hi im new here and I im building a 275 gal roaster/ smoker I have a 55 gal barrel stove that I wanted to plum in the side of the smoker to us as a fire bix the outlet is 6 inches and I was goimg to do a 6 inch outlet off the top of tank with a damper I split the tank just about in half any help would be great
 
The barrel is alot like the set up you have there I will try to post
 
as you can see I have a pig roaster to I've thought about putting a smoke box on it.. What i find works great center the pig on the spit and do indirect heat wood and coals on each end for the last 45 minutes to hour spread the coals under the pig and u get great crackle

Hello Abucks, welcome to the site, Pretty neat looking build you have going. You said something about a damper in your stack, I have one but its only to keep out rain and bugs, I like my stack free flowing while I am smoking, controlling the heat and air flow with the dampers on the FB.
