Hello from East Tennessee

Thread Starter

I have always enjoyed smoked/BBQ, thought that was closest thing to heaven. I started with a Green Egg, then a Bradley Smoker and just added a Hasty Bake. I am retired and enjoy having the time to experment with different types of BBQ/Smokes.

I have just built a smoke generator that I can use on the Hasty Bake that provides added space for a cold smoke. It don't get that hot where I live( below 75 most of the time) so its pretty easy to cold smoke.

I used a 3"X18" steel tube, used a venture system I had laying around from ??? placed it it the top of the tube, place some aluminum mesh in the bottom which I have open, made a cap for the top. Used a aquarium pump to power the generator. I am still experimenting with the generator . I believe I read on the Forum that is is better to pull the smoke from the bottom of the tube vs the top. I may try that, although I not for sure what performance I will improve.

I am really glad I found this site, so many knowledgeable and helpful people. I have found lots of info. just using the search.
